The latest tech employment data is a reminder that focusing on the short-term may cause us to ignore long-term trends. In February, new hiring of tech services and software development personnel resulted in a modest increase in tech industry employment. That was offset by a decline in tech occupations across the economy and a flat month of employer job postings for future tech hiring.
