The world of robotics is advancing pretty quickly. There’s been a flurry of robotics companies popping up from nowhere with impressive offerings. But what are the best robots around today? And why is this happening all of a sudden? We’ve already covered Figure AI before so let’s see what other robots are out there.

  1. A couple of corrections:

On the point of Astribot claiming that the Tesla Bot demo was faked, Elon did in fact openly say that it was being tele-operated at the time. So apologies for missing that.

There’s also an image of Andrej Karpathy used instead of Milan Kovac.

    Enjoy the video!

  2. The problem is that in most cases low paid and mistreated human workers are way more cost effective than robots, there's no reason to invest in robot workers so how do you bootstrap economies of scale?

  3. I have seen whats coming! man created robots with metal wires and bolts, these things won't need any of that and they will be housed by evil spirits. The devil is going to give them what they have been tampering with and you won't be able to tell the difference between them and us unless.. They will also turn and start to create themselves.

  4. Olivia is good for posturing expressions.
Think, eventually you'll strap that thing onto a pair of robot legs that can actually walk.
Olivia research is focus on making sure those expressions and language will fit our scenarios.

  5. Great video. The global smartphone market is currently $600bn (2024). These are devices that max out at $2k. There is zero chance that a market for robots that will be $10k- $15k minimum (assuming incredible advances in mass production) will reach 10 times that in 10 years. That's not to say that we (consumers) won't eventualy upgrade to a new robot annually (or even more often) in the future as the tech advances exponentially. I'm sure in 15 years (or less) humanoid robots will be uniquitous like in Irobot.

  6. what makes me annoyed is the certainty that I'll be stuck with robots programmed by other people's ethics. there is only one set of 'ethics' robots should care about; THE LAW.

  7. Роботы освободят человека от монотонного труда,главное чтоб люди перестали воевать. Варварские привычки должны ути в прошлое.

  8. The wealth and luxury of the Roman Empire were built on the backs of slaves. The wealth of the European Colonial Empires and their former colonies was also originally produced by slaves. The lives of slaves in both cases could be ground into labor. Robots will be the new slaves, but this will not mean the liberation of poor human beings. The most likely outcome is that they will no longer be treated as social waste by the State, as useless bodies that can be killed and discarded in large quantities in landfills. The same system of political and economic power that drives the development of AI and the manufacture of robots in the US is encouraging the sale of children and organs in Argentina. Human life no longer has much value in many places; soon, treating a human being's health will be considered a useless expense, while caring for robots will be a necessary and, why not say, humanitarian investment.
