Pinstripe linen sheets 🤤
The problem with glass tables is there is a fine layer of dust shorty after cleaning them. I don’t want to be a slave to glass tables.
I like iron grey, and chrome is close enough to that that I will use it in small amounts on items that are not available in iron grey. Not really a fan of stripes. I find it tacky. I love fiery reds, which is to say that reds that have a hint of orange. Not a fan of outright yellow, though. Not a fan of "whimsical" wallpaper at all. Loathe glass furniture.
5:16 but Nick, what are chunky highlights if not…hair stripes? 😂
i detest chrome
Great video, Nick. I've lived in my home for 50 years. I change things around for a new look, but I refuse to buy something new or used to replace a glass table, so I simply put a cloth over it so that it catches the dust and I'm not cleaning it all the time!~!!
Hate chrome, black, and glass – so early 90’s to me and has no character
I never noticed your nose before until your stashe! 😘😘😘
Haha glass furniture!!! Smudge magnets, kill children with it. Why? I confess to two small Pottery Barn iron and glass stacking tables cuz I like a dab of twinkle but omg no brass and glass mirrored pieces thank you. Nick…you really make me laugh. Smart funny is wonderful. 😂 Your newest fan.
Chrome: 🫤
Stripes: 😀
Red and yellow: 🤷🏿♀️
Wall treatments: 🙌
Glass furniture:🙅🏾♀️
Love your humor, Nick.
I love that you always say what you like and hate but also say "hey don't listen to me do what you want".
Paint Mafia! 😊
Stripes can be overwhelming.
I understand "organic" fruits and vegetables. I do not understand "organic" furniture. What is that?
The opening comments related to frosted tips and chunky highlights was giving Devil Wears Parada where Miranda drags Andy through the ringer over her blue sweater
If you have ever had to pay someone to rip off the wallpaper, you would not be saying wallpaper (wall treatments) are in…..yikes…..
I just recently bought a glass coffee table at a garage sale! Yes, garage sales do still exist here in Oregon.
❤
Points for use of the word “wonky”.
I don’t care how popular chrome gets, I will never buy it. I hate chrome! Just looks so cheap! Just me. I’m a matte black girl. 😍
We just painted our living room, bright yellow. We live in New Mexico. It looks great .
Has nothing to do with trends, but the rooms we were working with: we have BM Peatmoss in the back third of basement home theatre, along with SW Folkstone ceiling, and SW Tricorn black in the front of the theatre, and on the tray ceiling. In that space, they work really well together, especially since we have a brick fireplace in the room. It allows the fireplace to feel less dominant.
Our guest bedroom consists of BM Pale Moon on the walls, and BM Milkyway on the ceiling. Pale Moon is a very muted yellow that doesn't turn khaki or green in shadow, or when the sun goes down. The ceiling is a very warm white that reflects the wall color really well, creating a gradient.
LOVE the timeless vs trendy explanation! So true!
My mother had a glass dinning table. I will never own one, it was my main source of stress as a kid.
Wood with glass is so handsome.
Love that Glass , can be there, without being there. They are lighter and airy. Especially in a small space. Not so heavy.
Stripes are timeless! Love
old flat was nicer! 😳
No, not chrome. Ugh.
Coastal stripes are a classic. Chrome is so 70's..Tartan is for Christmas, never outdated.
I love this channel! Nick makes home decorating fun, entertaining and informative.
I am not sure if its a trend, but I am in to comfy womfy furniture.
I had one of those glass mats under my office chair. One evening I dropped my cocktail glass on it and it hit perfectly, shattering it into a zillion pieces. I now have a wood bamboo one which I like and it won't shatter keeping me up until 3 AM vacuuming up shards of glass to protect the cat.
Whether you call it a fad, a trend, or fashion, decide what appeals most to you. Nick is right, decide what design, shapes, textures, colors are most appealing. There will be a common thread, timeless no matter the decade. I think we are still amidst the whiplash effect of the pandemic. Homes can and should be personal.
I have a glass coffee table and it works for me because I have a small living room and the glass opens it up a bit PLUS I love my living room rug and it becomes more visible with the glass table.
Have you done an episode on southern home exterior that will be timeless?
Video idea: What about fireplace trends?
I HATE chrome hate hat ehate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate
Nick – the clicks and bleeps through the video is ruining the experience. Too much. Sorry.
12:47 Omg is this from the house of Chelsea Fagan of Financial Diet??
All 90s stuff! Sunflowers and Tuscan kitchens are next…
Side note: an EMT friend told us glass tables are the MOST DEADLY household accident he gets called to attend to. I was pregnant and got rid of my glass tables immediately.
Ph my goodness i did the pottery barn yellow/gold and red/burgundy in my first house back in 1999-2001
Hey Btw … white kitchens are like a fine strand of pearls . Classic , elegant , easy to add pizzazz with any colors you want ! I love mine ❤
The picture on the thumbnail with the wallpaper behind a shelf caught my eye. I have it in a moodboard.
Would be interesting if you let Alexandra Gater renovate one of your rooms.
I love your channel and I love my glass coffee table! It’s round, classic brass trim and two tiered (with bottom piece being opaque). It’s gorgeous and I’ll never give it up. 😂❤
Glass dining tables freak me out…I don’t want to see everyone’s laps while I’m eating…I don’t know why but I just HATE that! But I have a coffee table with a glass top because I have always lived in small apartments and it just makes sure my small living area doesn’t get closed down. Cannot wait to have a big living area and be able to have a different kind of coffee table!
No to chrome….😂
Looove your videos so much! Keep it honest! As a visual artist I really appreciate the way you make brilliant connections between trends movements and time periods. Brilliant.
